Cool Roadrunner services

Read about this in the Midweek and Roadrunner is offering free wireless hotspots which they refer to as RoadRunner Speedzones. Here are the current hotspots:

Current Hotspots
  • Downtown - Tamarind Park
  • Aloha Tower Marketplace, Mauka
  • Upper Kapahulu
  • Pearlridge Center Uptown (Near Borders)
  • Waikiki (Diamond Head end)
  • Kailua Business District
  • Iroquois Lagoon Yacht Club
  • Hickam AFB Exchange Food Court
  • Schofield Burger King and Popeye's Dining Area
  • Schofield Exchange
  • KONA, Hawaii (Big Island) - Alii Drive

Another cool service is 500MB file storage space for free. Here's the site:

Sounds like a free service, but I don't understand this part:

"Security - Road Runner Speed Zone provides end-user authentication and billing/reconciliation for all hot spot users, preventing hackers and unauthorized patrons from using the Speed Zone network."

especially the billing/reconciliation part. Is this just to see if you're a legit user of RR? Or is billing actually involved?

Don't know where exactly the Kailua business area is.

I read that as they'll have authentication as well as usage that would show up on your billing statement so that you can reconcile your RR activity.
