Alan Wongs

“New Wave” Opihi Shooter
Local Limpet in Spicy Tomato Water, Fennel Basil Ume Shiso Essences

Heard that this was too salty. Didn't taste too good either.

Seafood Cakes
Lobster, Shrimp, Scallop and Crab Cakes, Caper Mayonnaise,
Tsukemono Relish

This was the best thing I had! I could have just eaten this all night.

Hamakua Springs Greens and Vegetable Salad
Alan Wong’s House Dressing

Nothing impressive. Just a normal salad.

Ginger Crusted Onaga, Long-Tail Red Snapper
Miso Sesame Vinaigrette, Organically Grown Hamakua Mushroom and Corn

This is one of their more popular dishes. I thought it was OK. I'd rather have the furikake onaga at the Pinapple Room.

Pan Steamed Opakapaka, Short-Tail Pink Snapper
Shrimp Pork Hash, Truffle Nage, Gingered Vegetables, Tapioca Pearls

This is what I ordered. The meat was a little too chewy. Overall a good dish with different flavors to taste which I like.

New Wave “Banana Split”
Trio of Mochi Wrapped Banana Ice Cream topped with “Wong Way” Candy Bar, Kula Strawberry and Coconut House Made Ice Creams

This was a banana mochi ice cream dessert. Kinda messy but pretty good.
