Took my dog to the beach on Hickam. It wasn't as nice as Kailua but the drive isn't as far. It's a bit muddy and rocky. There are areas that are sandy but it's kinda shallow. No shower either to wash the dog off.
Cool. Are dogs allowed at that beach? Does your dog love the water? The one time we took our dog, she was a little scared of the waves. We brought her in the water, and she swam so fast back to the sand with her small body and legs. She ate some sand and you know where that ended up coming out of.
They aren't allowed officially but there are alot of dogs there so I don't think they care. As long as people take care of the place and don't leave the doggie doodoo on the beach, it should remain that way. My dog LOVES the water! Beaches and pools but prob the beach more. She'll just go swimming by herself but she really likes to go fetch sticks thrown into the ocean. The waves don't matter to her. She'll just go jumping right into it.
