Shore Bird Grill Restaurant - Waikiki

Went to the Shore Bird Grill this past week with some friends because one of their friends was staying in Waikiki. I've never been here before and it wasn't too bad. You cook your own steak, chicken, or whatever you order on this big grill. The view was really nice but I probably wouldn't go back unless someone was buying me dinner.

Foodbank Fun!!!

Volunteered today with some friends to help out with the Foodbank today in the afternoon. I didn't want to do the fishnet thing but I didn't have a choice. I kinda felt like a beggar with a big sign on me asking for handouts. Start out at the beginning of the red light, walk down the line and hope for some dollars, walk back to the beginning. Repeat. The worse is walking all the way down and getting nothing. Such rejection! We were at the end of Kam hwy so alot of people probably already gave before they got to us. We did pretty good though overall.

Girl power!

Chun Wah Kam is packed on the weekend!!!

Went there for a quick bite at lunch and it was packed! Heard it's been worse than it was today so I guess we were lucky. Ordered only one item but it still was too much. Shoulda ordered the mini plate which I still probably couldn't finish. Here are some pics. I got beef broccoli with pancit and a gau gee. Myong's Madness got eggplant, chow funn, and sweet sour pork I think. Here are the pics(Sorry it's kinda blurry cuz I had my 2 MP cam).

Packed parking lot!

Great Harvest Bread Coming to Kailua

Great Harvest Bread, the home of the $8 loaf of bread, is opening next to the new Starbucks in the Enchanted Lakes area. According to the neighboring Starbucks employees, the store will open this July or August. Although their bread is expensive, it's really, really good. I like the ones with white chocolate in them.

So make a trip out to the Windward side and check out the recent additions. There's Coffee Bean and Tea, Mama's Island Pizza, Ho-Jin's Korean Fusion, Chip & Cookie, Cold Stone, and Pier 1.

Turtle Bay Arnold Palmer course is UNBELIEVABLE!!

Went golfing(If you can call it that. haha) with some friends on Sunday at Turtle Bay on the Palmer course. First time we were able to get a tee time. Probably because it was on Easter Sunday. $52 for kamaaina rate for twilight. We got to go out at 1:45 and we were able to finish 18 holes. We saw Michelle Wie as she was leaving the clubhouse with her parents and getting into their Mercedes Benz, Lexus. Practicing for next year's SBS Open perhaps? Thought about getting picture but it feels kinda weird asking a 16 year old for a picture even though she's a superstar. Doesn't BJ Wie look a little like Jon Yoshimura ? Well, back to the topic...the fairways was unreal at least to me since I've never seen fairways that look like greens on alot of golf courses. The rough was pretty rough in alot of areas though. You can easily lose alot of balls. One of us lost 18 balls but I'm not saying who. =) Here are some pics:

What the hell are Anal Sacs?

So I come home on Friday and I see the butt of my doggie(golden retriever) is a little wet. So I look at her butt and there's this swollen lump around the size of a quarter by her butt! I was like what the hell is that?? Called the vet and made an appt for Monday to look at it because they said it could wait. Well on Saturday the thing kinda popped and brown stuff slowly oozed out of it. Not that smelly though surprisingly. She felt much better and I took her in today and she has to take antibiotics for 10 days. The vet said the sacs don't tend to be problem with larger dogs, but small dogs you have to sometimes manually empty them. Just glad my doggie is OK...whew....

CEOs say how you treat a waiter can predict a lot about character

From USA Today...

I can't stand people who think they're better than others because of their money, wealth or status. Maybe it's because I don't have any of the three...Hey waiter get me my damn water!

Cheap Microsoft fingerprint reader at Office Depot

It's on sale this week at Office Depot for $10 after rebate. I'm gonna get one to see how good it is. Also if you take an empty printer cartridge, you can get $3 off of your purchase or a ream of paper.

UPDATE: It's only good for Windows XP! Dang! I still have Windows 2000! I should've know it was a Microsoft trick to get you to buy their latest O/S. Damn you Bill Gates!

Microsoft Fingerprint Reader lets you easily log on to your PC and your favorite Web sites with the touch of your finger — without having to remember all of your passwords! Simply place your finger on the receiver whenever a password or user name is required.

Easy-to-use software makes replacing passwords with your fingerprint a snap. Simply register your fingerprints with the easy-to-use registration wizard and you're ready to go. Then, when you visit a site that requires a password, just touch the Fingerprint Reader with any registered finger, enter your data, and then click OK — it's the last time you need to enter that information! Now, you can browse to the Web site and log in with a touch of the finger or log in with a click of the mouse via Quick Links. Windows® XP users can also use the Fingerprint Reader to switch between user accounts without actually logging off from the computer by turning on the Fast User Switching feature. With a touch of a finger, you can quickly switch between users without closing programs and files. Backed by the manufacturer's 3-year warranty.

Online banks - rates moving up

Here are two of the more competitive rates for savings. I don't even know how people put their money in commercial banks nowadays. Their rates are horrible. At least put it into a credit union. Honolulu Federal Credit Union is a great one for federal employees.

Emigrant Direct - 4.5%

They also have a 1.4% Rebate Visa Credit Card

Where do they have crinkle fries?

For some reason, I'm kinda crazy about crinkle fries. Probably because it tastes way better that the skinny fries(except for McD fries). Potato wedges are pretty good too though. Steak fries are up there as well. Couple of the places I like for crinkle fries are Magoos Pizza(Cheesy fries rule) and Kiki's. I think all of the L&Ls have em. Know of anywhere else?
